Armadillo Trapping Solutions

Whether you are on a budget or just like taking matters into your own hands when it comes to getting rid of nuisance armadillos, I can set you up for success with minimal effort. All you need is a Scented NoDillo Armadillo Trap, some guidance from the DIY Page and some patience. 

1. Purchase a Scented NoDillo Trap. Non-scented traps do not work on armadillos with few exceptions. 

2. Watch trap placement videos on the ArmadilloGuyOKC Youtube Channel or consult with me at no charge with the purchase of a NoDillo Armadillo Trap.

3. Success will largely depend on the frequency and predictability of armadillo activity. The Expectations Page helps explain this more. Be  patient if you don't get immediate results. Its equally important to avoid getting over confident when you are trapping several. They are likely to come back even after you are sure you have trapped all of the ones in your area. 

4. What do you do with the armadillos you trap? You need a plan and that's where professionals really come in handy. Relocating them is illegal in many states. It may seem innocent with good intentions to take them to the country but you are making your problem someone else's along with many other negative outcomes for the armadillo, the environment and other animals. 

1. The Detective Work - it begins by the Armadillo Guy (AG) personally assessing the exterior of the property and surrounding areas that armadillos are actively causing damage in. An effective Wildlife Damage Management (WDM) plan that is unique to each property will be developed and discussed in detail. To help manage expectations, its important to understand typical armadillo behavior. 

2. The Management Solution - at minimum, NoDillo scented traps will be strategically placed as part of the management solution. In many cases, part of the long-term solution will be discussing how to make the damaged property uninviting and less accessible to transient armadillos passing through. 

3. The Eviction - removing armadillos from your property that are captured in the NoDillo traps is exciting for most people when they see us driving away with them. Traps will be left or exchanged if there is still a need. Captured armadillos are legally dispatched in accordance with Oklahoma law. 

4. The Future – Just because its clear that the current resident armadillos have been successfully evicted, its important to remain alert and prepared. The balance of nature somehow signals transient armadillos that could be miles away that territories are available and could make their way to your property if it is still inviting and accessible. Staying on top of the Wildlife Damage Management plan, which may include “exclusion” or blocking off easy access will be a critical part of long-term success which we will discuss.
